LINE Stickers for Codex

Bring a familiar sticker picker into a desktop AI conversation

By · Updated

LINE Stickers for Codex is an independent Windows integration by Stan Shih (施博瀚). It adds a local sticker picker to the Codex desktop composer, with pack search, favorites, and enlarged previews.

A picker where the conversation happens

The project adds a LINE sticker button to the Codex desktop composer. Instead of finding an image in a separate folder, you can browse local sticker packs, search pack names, and keep frequently used stickers in favorites.

The documented v7 interface keeps favorites across restarts and provides enlarged hover previews. Keyboard interaction and reduced-motion mode use static images.

Preserving the rest of a message

The integration notes describe sending a selected sticker while preserving the text and other attachments already drafted in the composer. Sticker messages use a compact, transparent presentation with animation on hover, while ordinary images keep their existing display behavior.

The implementation separates the composer picker from message display. The public repository includes both scripts and records local checks for favorites, the submission function, APNG animation pixels, and draft preservation. These checks do not establish success in every signed-in conversation or future app version.

What is available to try

The GitHub repository publishes scripts, a launcher, and integration notes. It does not distribute Codex or ChatGPT, sticker images, login profiles, or prepared app updates. Cloning the repository alone therefore does not produce a working installation.

The documented setup uses separately installed LINE and Codex desktop apps and an already prepared local runtime. For that setup, the launcher's ValidateOnly option checks paths without starting or stopping the app. Consult the current repository before using the launcher: its documented resource-control dependency and runtime layout are part of the local setup.

Local assets and compatibility

The picker reads stickers LINE has already stored on the computer. That cache is not a verified purchase record or permission to redistribute the artwork. Sticker assets stay out of the public repository.

This is a third-party project, not an official OpenAI or LINE integration. Its documented scope is selecting and displaying stickers; it does not establish that an AI understands the meaning of every sticker. Compatibility should be checked against the desktop app version and prepared runtime in use.
